Interstitial Cystitis/ Bladder Pain Syndrome
  • If you have urinary frequency, a strong urge to urinate, or pain, pressure or discomfort in the bladder or pelvic area, you may have Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome.

  • Advice and support will improve symptoms of Interstitial Cystitis and should be provided before starting medical treatment.

  • There are multiple medical therapies that must be tailored to the individual patient which also may help the symptoms of Interstitial Cystitis.

  • Clinical research trials are necessary to evaluate the efficacy of new medical therapies for interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome.  The benefits of these new treatment therapies are supported by basic scientific research.
